The objective of Geauga Lake Today was to celebrate the past, present, and future of a Northeast Ohio institution. It's goal was to also help promote the park and offer information to those who wanted to visit yet did not not know much about what the park offered. On September 21, 2007, the focus of this site had dramatically changed. Instead of focusing on the present day park and what could have been a bright future, we are now forced to focus on what was a great park as well as keep its past alive now that Geauga Lake has officially closed after 119 years of operation. A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY: Geauga Lake Today was founded in March 2001 after the sale of the former Sea World Ohio to Six Flags and the park officially becoming Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. The site was known as SFWoA: An Unofficial Guide. It has always been my mission to create a site that could be as informative as possible from a fan's point of view. I also wanted to help celebrate the park's illustrious past and, with much appreciative thanks to Coasterdad and those who have sent in contributions, has helped create a large gallery of photos, post cards, and maps that help show just how much Geauga Lake has changed over the years. Thank you for visiting Geauga Lake Today. We hope we have accomplished our goals by bringing back memories that you may have made over the years.
