By Michael Lee So where's the speculation for next year or will Geauga Lake sit idle this off season with only in-park improvements made? Seems by now the rumor mill should have started flowing but there's just no sign of anything. Do they even realize the last addition to the rides side was in 2001? I understand they have a lot as it is but, for crying out loud, I'd settle for a Tilt-A-Whirl. They have removed rides and possibly the monorail now. If they remove that, and do nothing else other than the Villain rehab, then to the general public the park will seemingly be shrinking. Less and less attractions on the rides side each year while the water park will probably see yearly additions. Why not update both sides equally? I guess that's just asking too much. Sorry for the rant but I am beginning to feel frustration over the lack of anything new on the rides side. Heck, I'd settle for the Happy Harbor flats to be moved to the old water park in order to really start to bring the 50's area back to its former glory. It wouldn't quite be there yet but it would definitely be a start. This way you could expand the water park to take up the one whole side of the lake, with both 4-D shows still over there since they would fit the water park theme as you get wet on them. Perhaps add water spray gadgets to the net climb? Honestly, I do love what they are doing with Wildwater Kingdom but I have loved the Geauga Lake side for over 25 years now. I live in Pennsylvania but the park is still home to me. Every year I get my season pass and look forward to an exciting fun-filled summer of riding and sliding, a tradition at the park for as long as I can remember, except now with the lack of attention on the Geauga Lake side everything is starting to feel out of place.
