GEAUGA LAKE 2006
Another year of ups and and downs has come to an end.

By Michael Dery, webmaster

It's hard to believe that as I write this that Geauga Lake is now closed for the season.  During this time we would still be enjoying the park during the annual Halloween Haunt but as we all know it was cancelled and all props were sent to sister park Valleyfair. Instead of crying over spilled apple cider, let's take a look back at an unusual 2006 season.

A NEW YEAR'S EVICTION

Things started happening rather quickly once the new year rang in as the park finally dismantled Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall in January.  The ride, which was put up for sale in August 2005, was eventually scrapped with parts sent to Cedar Point to keep Demon Drop running until it gets sold.  The loss of Mr. Hyde's may have left a void in the park's skyline as well as in the 50's area but a vast majority of people do not miss it.  Photo taken April 18 during GLT's off-season walk through the park.
